Natasha Zinko’s creative vision for her Resort 2025 Collection was heavily influenced by the iconic science fiction masterpiece, “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Directed by the visionary Stanley Kubrick and based on the writings of Arthur C. Clarke, the film’s sleek, futuristic aesthetic has long captivated the designer’s imagination. “I was inspired by Space Age dressing and the science fiction fantasies of Kubrick and Clarke,” Zinko explains. Channeling the chic, utilitarian style of off-duty astronauts and space station crew, Zinko has crafted a wardrobe that seamlessly blends functionality and fashion. Sheer white long johns, black catsuits, and flat-soled, knee-high boots create a bold, streamlined silhouette that exudes effortless cool.
For the Resort 2025 collection, Natasha Zinko‘s primary inspiration came from the iconic astronaut suits that have become synonymous with space exploration. Translating the giant sleeves and oversized, rounded proportions of these specialized garments, the designer has crafted a range of long and short padded denim jackets, as well as cotton coats adorned with striking checks. Jeans play a pivotal role in the Resort 2025 collection, with Zinko drawing inspiration from the bulky, protective qualities of astronaut suits. Rendered in faded, yellowed, or black denim, these XXL-sized pants feature a unique blend of wide legs and narrow waists, achieved through Zinko’s signature pleating and cutting techniques.
