For the Resort 2025 collection, Ferragamo‘s creative director Maximilian Davis wanted to delve deeper into the concepts he has been exploring at the brand. While maintaining the minimalist foundation, he has also sought to smooth the edges of his fashion, embracing more comfortable shapes, softer textures, and a “sense of reality.” “We’re really looking at what works for us and how we can improve those products in terms of the color, the material, the construction and perfecting every single piece or silhouettes we’ve been doing since I joined,” Davis explained during a walkthrough.
In his quest to inject a touch of the past into the collection, Davis looked to Ferragamo‘s archival catalogs and campaigns from the 1970s and 1980s. This subtle nod to the brand’s heritage seamlessly blends with the contemporary sensibilities that have become the hallmark of his designs. One of the standout features of the Resort 2025 collection is the way Davis has channeled easy glamour and a more relaxed feel. Lighter and more fluid textures have resulted in simple silhouettes with a sensual undercurrent.
